"Live" gets used loosely online — live feeds, live photos, live streams. On a live video call, it has one specific meaning: the person on the other end is on camera right now, reacting to you in real time.
Live means happening right now
A live call is an interactive exchange rather than a prerecorded clip. PeachChat does not record or replay live calls, although another participant could still use an external recording tool.
Why recordings and feeds can mislead you
A static photo or looping clip does not provide the same real-time interaction as a call. Current profile availability should still be confirmed in the product rather than inferred from a promotional page.
How to tell a call is genuinely live
- Treat a live response as conversational context, not as identity proof by itself
- Use services that verify displayed profiles and provide report and block controls
- Do not share sensitive information just because a conversation is on video
